What's happening at the RecCentre this month?

Women's Only hours set to change from Monday 10th October

REMEMBER - this trial is in a small portion of the gym that is usually available to all members (circuit room and mezzanine). The rest of the facility remains business as usual - a mixed facility.

Free Fitness Testing

Having a fitness test is a great way to find your baseline fitness levels and provide motivation for your training. Track your progress by re-testing every 6-8weeks.We offer a taste of field based fitness testing to all members as part of the TeachMe services. Ask a consultant for more info when you see them on the gym floor. Bookings are advised - TOTALLY FREE at reception.
If you're looking for more advanced lab based or field based fitness testing, we recommend the Sport Science Centre, ideal for athletes or anyone with a specific fitness goal where testing may help refine your training.

TeachMe - Free Gym Intro sessions

Would you like to start working out at the gym, but not sure where to start? You can get free advice and education from our gym staff by booking in for a TeachMe Gym Intro session. Just 30mins long, and limited to around 4 people per session, we will take you through the basics of some of the equipment and training styles on offer at the gym, giving you the confidence to build your own programmes and evaluate what you see on the web. We offer sessions in free weights, machine weights, foam rolling, core, kettlebells, intervals & circuits, swissball and suspension training. StartMe - Free Gym Programmes

Ready to start your health & fitness journey but not sure where to start? Try a StartMe session with a qualified fitness consultant. They're FREE! We'll take you on a tour of the facility (if you want one), have a chat to you about your goals and experience, and then take you through a basic gym programme to get you started. You can request a male or female consultant if you have a preference, please just ask at the time of booking. It's the ideal time to get started and get your routines in place for Semester 2!
